Georgia College & State University Homecoming Campaign 2023

Remember when I served as Vice President of Recruitment & Marketing? Well, a major part of my job was creating a homecoming campaign. The purpose of this campaign was to showcase our chapter’s candidates for Duchess & Queen of Georgia College. See the full campaign below!

Step One: Choosing a Theme

The vibe? Think Old Hollywood Glam

When choosing a theme for this, I wanted to go for something we’ve never done before. I saw our candidates and wanted to design a campaign centered around them and their personalities (Don’t worry, you’ll meet the candidates very soon!)

Step Two: Choosing the Candidates

Meet the stunning, the beautiful Nicole & Lauren! These two ladies were voted on by the Kappa Delta Eta Mu chapter to represent us as our Duchess & Queen Candidate for Homecoming 2023. I took these girls and shaped this entire campaign around them.

Step Three: Design Design Design

I designed 4 sheet signs that, in my opinion, perfectly capture the essence of the campaign. I wanted to keep the girl’s names as the main focus of the signs, hence, why they are more on the simple side. These sheet signs were hung in various places around campus, and were swapped around to keep the element of surprise for the audience

I designed buttons for chapter members to wear and hand out around campus. Again, the focus was to highlight the girl’s names

This is a yard sign! I designed and had over 100 of these signs made. We placed them all over campus, covering every corner, hoping to catch as many student’s eyes as possible

I designed these tags that we tied onto EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. we handed out at tabling (oh yeah, we tabled on campus every single day for 2 weeks). I ordered over 1000 of these and every single one was handed out. That’s over 1000 people that had these tags in their hands!

I have to admit, I didn’t design this. I hired someone within our chapter to design it! I wanted to have stickers for the chapter members to put on their computers/water bottles. The purpose of this was for Lauren and Nicole’s names to be everywhere-including in classes!

Step Four: The Photoshoot

What’s one thing that makes a strong campaign? A themed photoshoot, duh! I knew I would need a ton of content to ensure that I had plenty of photos to use throughout the campaign. I hired the most amazing photographer who perfectly captured my vision for the campaign. The photoshoot was held at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. Below is just a sample from the photoshoot.

Step Five: Social Media

I knew we needed a strong social media presence during this campaign. Below is a sample of some TikToks and story posts made throughout the campaign.

Step Six: Local Brand Partnership

We partnered with a local coffee shop called Morning Grind! I asked them if they would be interested in partnering with us and endorsing our candidates. We worked together to create a specialty drink named “The Kappa Delta Special". The promotion included publicly endorsing us on their social media pages and around their store. It also included $1 off any drink if the customer proved they voted for Lauren & Nicole! I’m incredibly proud of this partnership, and I believe that this is what took our campaign to the next level.

Step Seven: The Results

Did I mention we won? Thanks to our campaign efforts, our candidates were awarded the titles of Duchess and Queen, marking the fifth consecutive victory for our Kappa Delta chapter! This success upheld our winning streak and further solidified our chapter's prominence on campus.
